Mary Lincoln - Roundtable

4/16/2012

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) and the Supreme Court Historic Preservation Commission (ISCHPC) are partnering in a series of events to educate and inform the public about Mary Todd Lincoln’s insanity and modern-day mental health issues. The Roundtable Discussion featured lively commentary on Mary Todd Lincoln’s alleged insanity, the role of the law, and the mental health profession from a historical and modern perspective. The transcript of this discussion will form the “record” for the insanity hearing retrials this fall in Chicago and Springfield. Below are images, videos, and documents of the Roundtable discussion that took place in the Senate Hearing Room located in the State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois on April 16, 2012.
